VOLUNTEER WITH NPJC

The best way to set up a volunteer experience that will meet your needs and personal goals is to contact the NPJC (615) 321-2266 or info@nashvillepeacejustice.org

Volunteer activist opportunities are available on a number of social-justice issues, including health care, environmental justice, the death penalty, immigrants rights, and ending the wars in Iraq and Afganistan.

The following ongoing volunteer positions are an important part of the “behind the scenes” work at the Peace and Justice Center:

OFFICE SUPPORT

Come in the office on a regular basis to help us keep the office clean, do mailings, phone banking, photocopying, and pretty much anything else that needs to be done.  We keep a running list of short and long-term projects and there’s always something to be done.

OFFICE CLEAN UP
Empty garbage, update flyer board, clean up conference room and kitchen space, vacuum and make the life of staff and volunteers much much much better.

DATA ENTRY
Add new NPJC members, and clean up database (duplicates, bad addresses, etc)

TABLING OUTREACH

Set up a table at an event with NPJC materials and engage passers-by at the event. This position requires someone who KNOWS what the NPJC projects are, and is willing to TALK TO PEOPLE and encourage their involvement.

PHONE BANKING
Call NPJC supporters and community folks interested in social justice issues to inform them of upcoming events and other timely info. We want a team of folks who are comfortable talking to people, who know about NPJC and can give good information.

PHOTOGRAPHY & JOURNALISM

Document the events and activities of the NPJC and its member groups with your camera and/or pen, and submit your work to the NPJC Newsletter, ALTERNATIVES, twice a year.

MEDIA MONITOR
Tape record TV news segments and clip newspaper articles generated by NPJC activities.
