BURNT Part Time Organizer
BURNT is a middle TN non-profit with a passion for environmental issues.  It has been all-volunteer since its beginnings working to shut down the Nashville incinerator plant (which was successful), but it has raised the money to hire a part time organizer to continue its work.  It has several campaigns currently -- one focusing on groundwater pollution in Dickson, TN.  Contact Bruce Wood at burnt_tn@yahoo.com with questions.

Peace Roots Alliance Part Time Organizer
Peace Roots Alliance works on military counter recruitment in the high schools.  It also has a campaign promoting peace through the utilization different medias. It is based out of Summertown, TN (1.5 hours south of Nashville)

Tennessee Coalition to Abolish State Killing
The Tennessee Coalition to Abolish State Killing (TCASK) is engaged in a legislative campaign to pass a moratorium and study bill during the 2007-08 Tennessee legislative session. The field organizer is responsible for traveling to, and conducting a grassroots organizing campaign in, targeted legislative districts in coordination with the associate director, and under the guidance of the executive director. The primary campaign vehicle is systematic outreach whose goal is to build sustainable network units (e.g. chapters, affiliates) empowered to act locally in conjunction with the TCASK strategic plan.
